  • Cultivating Mathematical Thinking in Salem Public Schools

    Challenge: Students in grades K-8 needed more opportunities to engage in mathematical reasoning, collaboration, and complex thinking.

    Approach: Comprehensive coaching for teachers and school/district leaders, responsive professional development, and ongoing progress monitoring.

    Impact: External evaluation showed immediate improvements in teaching quality and students’ access to rigorous tasks and questions.

  • Transforming Teacher Recruitment at KIPP Capital Region Charter Schools

    Challenge: School leaders reported being understaffed and the talent team struggled to source and efficiently recruit the high volume of teachers necessary to staff the network.

    Approach: Implementation of a streamlined ATS, professional development on effective sourcing strategies, and modeling of team management toward specific goals.

    Impact: Increased application volume on hard-to-staff positions, reduction in time-to-hire, and more transparent recruitment data allowing for strategic decision making.

Off-The-Shelf Solutions

We offer customized versions of these off-the-shelf packages to many of our service partners!

  • High Intensity Teacher PD (aka HIT PD): Teachers rapidly improve their practice during three consecutive days of intensive professional development with tight feedback loops and high accountability. Teachers participate in morning learning sessions and then implement new strategies with their own students in the afternoon while facilitators observe and provide feedback.

  • Content Knowledge Courses: Teachers and leaders participate in interactive, engaging, and demanding coursework that deepens their understanding of content standards and learning progressions. Courses are remote and synchronous. Graduate course credit is available (MA only).

  • Coach-the-Coach Services: Leaders who coach teachers work one on one with a designated coach to practice assessing instructional quality, planning effective coaching conversations, and designing professional development.
